A "lose-lose' Fight

Paddy Pimblett relates to the upcoming Tony Ferguson fight as a "lose-lose" fight at UFC 296.

When UFC 296 arrives on December 16th, it will have been a year since Paddy last got into the octagon. In his last fight he came up against Jared Gordon in which he won due to an unanimous decision that did in fact cause controversy to whether Jared Gordon was 'Robbed'. However this win for Paddy extended his winning streak to 6 fights, with four of those being in the UFC.

With the date set for Paddy's return, he is prepared to fight Tony Ferguson, who is the most known fighter Paddy has fought to date. Ferguson is coming of six straight losses, which is quite the opposite of Paddy, however Ferguson is a Veteran and an all time great in the UFC, even though he 11 years older than the 28 year old. So with Paddy looking to extend his winning streak to 7 fights with 5 of those being in the UFC, Ferguson looks to put an end to his loss streak and grab his first win in 7 fights, which sets the record straight for a great matchup. However Paddy currently seems to be the favourite and is confident he can add an extra win to his record.

In a recent video on Paddy's YouTube channel, that has been scaling round the internet, he stated that "This fight is a lose-lose for me" and then proceeded to follow this statement up by saying "I don't care what anyone says. It's a lose-lose. He's on a six-fight loosing streak. If i win- when I win, I'm just going to be like 'aw, it's Tony Ferguson. He's finished. He's this. He's that'. If I lose, which I don't think is going to happen, but if I do, everyone is going to be like 'you just lost to Tony Ferguson.' So it is a lose-lose for me, but as I have told everyone in the past, I will never turn down a fight'.

Paddy has since acknowledged that he grew up watching Tony Ferguson and it will be a honour to share the cage with someone with the respect he has gained through out the years of his career.

This upcoming Card on December 16th is going to be a stacked card with the likes of Leon Edwards coming up against Colby Covington and is a night UFC fans can't wait for to kick start the Christmas holiday.
